Betta experiencing Color Loss

Ive had my Betta for a few months now and hes been doing great. I finally got his tank perfect and only had to do weekly water changes, but of course someone wasn't watching their kid when visiting my house.
I was working on an essay and my cousins one year old got into my room and poured baking soda, butter and all mt guppies food into my bettas tank. I quickly changed the tank water, which ruined the cycle obviously, but I didnt have a choice.
Its been about a week and a half and I thought he was doing fine, he's swimming around fine and his fins were even spreading the pink he was originally changing to!
But then I noticed something off but everyone told me not to worry about it and I gave it the benefit of the doubt and checked his parameters, which were perfectly fine, so I just decided to keep an eye on him.
Well now hes losing color and I honestly have no clue what it could be. I've tried shining a light on him but I don't see any gold and his fins arrnt clamped so I don't think its velvet?? But I don't know what else to contribute it to... He's swimming fine but in really worried. Can anyone give me some advice or ideas on what could be going on... I don't want my poor baby to suffer.

Is he an older betta? When they get older their colors start to fade.

He's not that old and he was originally turning pink. I thought maybe it was the color change but the pink in his fins started fading white rapidly. He didnt have these white spots the day before yesterday, and I honestly didn't see them yesterday either when I was tending to him.

Bettas rarely stay the same shade of color they are when you buy them. Their colors evolve as they mature and age. Do you have any pictures of when he was still new to the tank?

There's also the chance of him having the marble gene, meaning his colors will chance over time. I've heard of bettas going from solid blue to pink and white cambodian as they got older. I myself have a betta that used to be nearly all white and now only his head is white while his body is a black/blue.

Yes- I agree with Demeter. Here’s an example of a color change in my betta:

I have a lot of pics of him from when I first got him.. I take pics of him all the time and post them on my fb and Instagram bc hes so pretty... He was really pale blue when I first got him and he drakened a lot and the pink started coming in.
I don't know if this is an illness, it could be what you said... I just want to be sure.

If your tank was cycled changing the water won't affect it. The one thing that will hurt or kill your cycle is pouring water in there that hasn't been treated with a water conditioner if you are using city water that has chlorine in it. If that didn't happen your bacteria should still be healthy.

It is possible for a fish to lose some of its color when it is stressed. The baking soda may have shot the PH up so high that it has damaged him. Maybe it is causing stress but as others have already said, he is hopefully just changing his colors. A week and a half seems to be a long time for symptoms to start showing up if it is caused by the PH spike so we can only hope it is just a normal color change.

Have you tested the tanks PH after you did the water change? Is it close to what he is used to and what it was before this child did what it did? At this point I don't know that there is any kind of medication you could give him since you pretty well know what happened so it most likely isn't some kind of disease.

Okay. Thank you! I was just worried.
I tested the parameters an hour ago and theyre actually perfect, it probably is a color change, I'm just a spazz when it comes to my animals bc I hate seeing animals suffer when I can do something for them.
I use prime and stress coat so its not the heavy metals from the water. I'm probably just worried for nothing. I just like to be better safe than sorry.
