Betta eating cory food (bloated)

Hello everyone! About 2 weeks ago I added a few pygmy corys to my 10 gallon betta tank. All has been well besides my betta eating the cory food. I’ve tried almost everything suggested in other threads and I’m running out of ideas. Betta likes everything including algae wafers. I’ve tried feeding at night. Betta wakes up and eats. Ive tried crumbling food up. Betta still eats it. I’m concerned that 1. my corys are getting hungry and 2. my betta is bloated. My corys have gotten to eat a few times because I put my betta in a breeder box for overnight, but I worry that would be to stressful to do everyday in the long run. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance :)

How small did you crumble up the food ,i crush food to powder and seems to work,I also use a turkey blaster to direct the food to corys

A good suggestion on a previous thread was to put the Cory food under a hide so only the corys can get to it. You can get the stone hides or something like pvc pipe might work.

If you crumble food to a powder and soak it first the betta will have quite a job to eat a lot. Corys love to scavage the tiny particles. Put it in just before light go out and don't feed the betta it's own food for some.time.

I think you're probably simply feeding too much cause the fear the Corys don't get enough.

I hadn’t crushed food to a complete powder so I will try that today! Thanks

I hadn’t thought of that! I’ll have to start looking for a tiny hide on Amazon lol :)

I’d say that’s probably true LOL
