Ok so 2 days ago i noticed my female betta wasnt eating much and looked a little bloated so i thought nothing of it and assumed she's eaten a snail or had egg belly etc. However, yesterday she was glued to the surface, she could swim down etc but it took a lot of work and if she let herself drift, she float to the top, tail first. Today i've noticed raised scales, only slightly, and bad bloating. Yesterday i put in some SBD treatment but today after seeing the scales i changed to the treatment stated above. No improvemnt yet of course. I've also been fasting her. What can i do? will she live? have i caught it early?

Do you have epsom salt on hand? Many aquarists use it to reduce swelling and to draw out the excess liquids in fish, it can help with dropsy if you give you’re betta a salt bath (NOT IN THE TANK in a different container that hasn’t been washed with chemicals before). I haven’t used it so I don’t know the dosage but it is a good way to help ease the swelling. I don’t know if she’ll make it. A pic would help, but from the sound of it it seems like she’s in a severe stage of dropsy, she’s showing major symptoms and since she’s already been like this for two days I’m not sure how long she’s got left.

She doesn’t look to good . I’m so sorry this is happening to you and your betta. I would stop the treatment your using and just give her a salt bath daily instead, sorry that I can’t give any exact measurements or instructions, I’ve just never used it before.
