Betta disease[New pics added]

HI I'm quite a new fella in keeping this betta known as fighting fish recently I discover 2 of my fish are acting very weird they are not that active and the fish don't really have the mood to eat he hardly eat the pellet I gave him.Here are some pic the 1st pic its about his tail its looks a he has a parasite attack I'm not really sure about this so I would like to ask u all.

The first one looks like it is a crowntail betta, and doesn't look like there is anything wrong with it. The second looks like it has ratty fins. ALTHOUGH I am NO expert. Are those the containers they are kept in? I certainly hope not. Those are way much too small for them to even be semi-happy. They need a heated and filtered and CYCLED tanks of atleast 2.5 gallons. Keeping them in small jars is just plain cruelty. The second one could have ratty fins because it lives in its own feces, so they are deteriorating. Having unheated tanks does not help. In a filtered and cycled tank, harmful things (like feces) will be converted into less harmful substances. These can be taken out by doing partial water changes. Unfortunatly, most of this bacteria lives in the filter, in which a jar does not have, leaving these harmful substances to hurt your fish. Please read this: Also important is this:

Ok actually I been trying to look for a container for them.Sorry for the bad quality of the pics actually the 1st fish may have some parasite attack I'm not so sure though but I'm trying to get a better picture of the fish.Any recomendation on shouldI do with this fish any medicine for them btw I live in mysia haha.

Can you find something like: or ? They'd make good homes for your Bettas. Even a 2.5g would be a home that you could put a heater and filter in, and a bubble stone.
- these are good heaters.
- this would be a good thing to test your water with.
- this would be good for treating your tap water.
- this would also be a good water treatment.
- this helps your bettas get vitamins
Hopefully you can find these near you or order them online from a website delivering to your area.

What you could do for your Bettas also is to feed them a few small pieces (pellet-size pieces) of a frozen pea that you thawed in the microwave for about 50 seconds, then peeled the skin off of. The best thing to do is get them into clean tanks like bbfeckawitts suggested. Fish tend to be happier with at least 1 gallon of water for each inch (adult size) and Bettas average 2.5 inches.

HMM don't u all notice there is something wrong with the crown betta?they are some white spots o his tail well about the tank issue I got it settle already I'm going to transfer him once the spots are gone.How about the second one?Is that ok with the fins like that?That's not some bacterial attack or? May I know what's the cost of it?

If it has white spots on his fins its probably ich. which is cause by not being in warm enough water. They need a bigger tank and heater and filters. Remember you'd need a tank eachas you can't keep them both in the same tank.

Yea that right.When I buy my fish it never had that white spot before now donnu why got that spot and another thing is how abou the second one??Any cure for him?

If you put medicine in those small containers you will overdose him. So lets get him in to a larger , heated, filtered container before we worry about meds.

Hmm natural colour?Weird I don't remember seeing any white steaks over there so that means my fish its fine right?No need any medicine?About the container I actually was thinking of transfering him to another glass jar which its bigger I guess he would be very happy in his new container.I only did the water ph reading only other than that I don't do it.Is it really important to do ammonia, nitrite, nitrate test?Does the tester looks like water ph stuf I got which I'm using is a liquid one and glass tube.I'm actually living in malaysia which the climate here its hot.Either rain or sunshine haha.How about the second fish?His leaving in a glass jar big enough for him lol.

Many Bettas will have a different color that way on their tails so the red Betta looks alright. The second Betta might have finrot, but i'm not sure in that jar - has the colors of his fins always been like that? blackening of fins is a fin rot symptom. One reason to put Bettas in tanks of at least 2.5 to 5 gallons is that they will often drag their tails on the bottom and they can pick up diseases if that tail drags over waste and stuff like that - they very easily get fin and tail rot.

It is very important that you check the ammonia, nitrate and nitrite!!! yes you need to be doing it. Too much of any of those, especially ammonia and nitrIte will kill your fish in a hurry or at the very least make them extremely uncomfortable and shorten their lives. Please, Please, Please do not neglect doing these. Your little guys are depending on you to keep their water clean.

 

What type of container is the new container? Is it a heated/filtered/over 5G?

Does it have other fish in it (safer without).

Sorry, I know it's a lot of information, and you were probably very ill-advised by the fish store. Am sure you want to do what's best for your really beautiful fish.

I do see some white on the crown betta, but on the back of its dorsal fin. It looks like it's frayed between the two last segments. Guys, do you see this too? Am no betta expert, so could be perfectly normal. Better wait for the experts' opinion on that.

The white on the tail looks 'normal' to me, although if it wasn't there before, that's a bit odd.
