I have a male CT betta that I have owned for around a year, maybe a little longer. But I want to move him into a bigger tank than his 3 gallon. I have a 29 gallon aquarium that I have finished stocking and was hoping that he would do well. I have seen bettas kept successfully with some of the fish I have, but others I’m unsure of. Would any pose a threat for themselves or the betta?

5x black skirt tetras
2x rams (gold and electric blue)

Both the black skirts and rams are fin nippers to bettas. Yes they can be community fish but the tank has to be stocked around them and not just an after thought.

IMO I would not keep a betta with the black skirts if I where you.

Black Skirts aren’t temperature compatible with bettas, the skirts require a colder water temperature.

I’m in a similar position. So what fish would give the highest probability of success with a male Betta? It’s just him and mystery snails in a 20 gallon long

Neon Tetras perhaps?
