Betta Community Tank

I have a 10g with one betta and one mystery snail. Could I get some guppies, platies (or other community fish) to add to the tank?
Ps I'm not sure if my betta is female or male, would this impact it?

It is suggested that bettas cannot be in a tank with other fish unless the tank is at least 20 gallons. You could put ghost shrimp, amino shrimp, or some nerite snails in your tank! :)

Oh, ok. I also have an empty 20g that I'm planning on stocking, I haven't decided which fish to get. Any suggestions? I was thinking guppies, a dwarf gourami, platies, RCS, mystery/nerite snails, or cories (probably not all, just ideas).

Is it a 20g long or tall? I wouldn't do the betta in the 20g if you are planning on a dwarf gourami.

20g long. Yes, I'm not planning on putting my betta in the 20g.

    I'd do this:
    1 dwarf gourami
    3 male guppies
    3 male platies
    8 julii cories
    1 bolivian ram
    3-4 nerite snails

These are some other stocks that I'm considering:

    7 male guppies
    5 male platies
    3 mystery/nerite snails
    10 red cherry shrimp

    8 male guppies
    6-8 cory catfish
2 mystery or 4 Nerite snails (or 1 mystery and 2 nerite)
    8-10 RCS

    1 dwarf gourami
8 pigmy cory or 6 panda cory
8 harlequin rasboras or neon tetra
    2 male guppies

But I love your idea, I just can't decide. I would love to have both a dwarf gourami and a bolivian ram. Please help me choose!
Thank you so much for helping!

All of those would be fine, it just comes down to what you want.

    What about:
    1 dwarf gourami
    7 guppies
    4 platies
1 mystery and 2 nerite snails
    4 pigmy cories

That would work, but do more pygmy cories than 4. At least 6-8.
