Betta breeding problem

I've tried breeding this pair multiple times. Everything goes well during the breeding process. He makes the bubble nest, they embrace, he puts the eggs in the nest, I take out the female, but the eggs never hatch. I've been trying to breed them in shallow water, about 6 inches deep or so, I've tried using indian almond leaves, plants, and bubble wrap taped to the side to help hold the bubble nest. I've had no issues there. Last time, I left him in for about 6 days to make sure the eggs weren't going to hatch. The only thing I can think of that might be a problem is a temp drop in the tank at night. What am I doing wrong? I just set up the breeding spot and they're getting used to each other so we can try one more time. Both fish have been well conditioned and are ready. I have moved them this time into a different room that stays a bit warmer to help the temp drop at night. I am prepared for the fry and have done my research beforehand also. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What brand of heater do you use?

I recommend fluval heaters. They keep the tank a very consistent temperature

Extremely high or extremely low levels of pH, GH, or KH can cause them not to hatch.

That might’ve been the issue. I’ve given up for now. I think I’m going to get an RODI unit and then I’ll try again.
