Betta bloated and sluggish

I have two bettas in a split 10. One seems to be not doing great. He either sits on a plant at the surface, inside his hut, or just on the bottom against something.
I noticed he was a little bloated a few days ago but I figured it was from me giving a bit too much food, constipation, or maybe eating some newly hatched snails.

Yesterday he had some weird white kinda curly poo. Is this a parasite?

The only med I currently have is melafix but I know it i'snt good for bettas.

Should I get bettafix? Is there another med that is better or more suited for this situation?

Thanks

Get that Betta in his own small tank or gallon bowl. Slowly add 1 tablespoon of dissolved epsom salt. Ad the salt only once. Then do daily partial water changes and hope for the best. Keep the water temp at 80 degrees F. The epsom salt works as a mild laxative helping him clean out his digestive system. It's also good for his general health. After about ten days he should be showing signs of being better, unless the poor guy has more serious problems like a diseased bladder. Don't feed him for the first day and then feed him sparingly. Also, hope for the best. Good luck.

I usually fast for 2-3 days, then feed with a shelled pea in small amounts at first. Hope he feels better soon!

This is excellent advice, too.
Again, good luck.

I will try fasting and shelled pea first and then salt if there is no improvement.
I'm assuming boiling/blanching will make it easier for him to eat
I also have indian almond leaves. I think I will put a couple in with him too.

Thanks!

Yep, cooking the pea first will make it easier for him to eat. Just make sure you remove the uneaten portion out to keep it from fouling up your water; I use a turkey baster since the pea tends to disintegrate in the water.

I tried the fasting and pea thing.. it helped maybe a tiny bit but his stomach by his fins is still swollen looking and he hides in his cave most of the time I will try an epsom salt bath once o get some.

So I just took his cave out and looked at him really close and I think he may have dropsy He isn't pineconed but looks less smooth than usual. He's also mostly just laying around on the bottom and the fake plant.. what is the best course of action at this point? Epsom still? Medication?
