Betta Behaviour.

HI all and regards.

I moved (my first betta) betta from
> QT (1G white-opaqe container, pvc elbow and ribbed black semicircle which he used to hide in) to
>Main 10G tank (cycled, air stone powered-sponge filter, has lil java moss, artificial grass/plants and happy and active 6 neon tetras), no heater, I probably will need AC here.

I emptied Qt water slowly while adding water from main tank over the course of 30-40mins. And then added him to the main tank. While moving he jumped and fell on floor (~3feet high). {Yes my carelessness, or he is too active, since it was his 7th or 8th attempt to jump out of net}
I also placed other spare pvc elbow and other ribbed black semicircle so that he will find familiar hideouts in new tank.

After moving he just went to bottom and stayed there for 10mins. Then he stayed near surface for 10mins. Then behind the big wood deco. And he swims too slowly.
Note :The main tank was 1° C cooler than the QT, since they are in different rooms. (Differences in temp before I started the entire process.)
I want to know some info about signs and symptoms that a betta shows when there is a change in water temperature with reference to above situation. I found articles saying erratic movement allover the tank is bad.
I have kept the lights off and covered tank with a towel for now to reduce stress (for how long should I continue this?)
Is there something I did wrong?
Any advice , suggestions, info, criticism is welcome.
I will post pics tomorrow when I uncover and switch on the lights.

You used a net correct? Next time you need to move a betta, trap him in a jar or cup and let him float in the new tank while the temperature equalizes.

A tiny change in temperature is no big deal so I doubt that's the problem. I'd be more concerned about the impact he made with the floor when he fell. Keep an eye on him and make sure the neons do not start bothering him or vise versa. Neons can be nippy and long finned males are an easy target for nippy fish.

I have read other people’s stories of bettas jumping the tank, laying in carpet for hours, and then making full recovery after going back into the tank.

My Betta took a couple days before he completely relaxed in his 10 gallon.

Were there any other fish in the tank?

No. My Betta was solo. When he first went into the tank he went straight to the floor and just laid there for a few minutes while I though I just killed my fish. Slowly came to life and started trying to find a hiding place. Swam around more and then flared at his reflection for a couple days pretty obsessively. Bad enough where I thought I’d have to return him. Then after about 3-4 days he stopped the constant flaring and just started doing lazy Betta stuff. Just kind of casually swims from one spot to the next. If I’m in the room he basically just watches me and if I approach the tank he becomes active and will try to watch my hands to see if foods coming. Now he has no problem with touch contact and will come to approach my hand when cleaning or feeding.

HI all and lots of thanks. Finally my betta is chilled relaxed exploring playing compatible idiot funny not-afraid and eating well.
Tetras are good, though one is injured (some tetra fight related to pecking order mostly) so ensuring good water quality for now.
So now tell me what type of betta is he?
Tail type: veil or other
Color pattern type: ?
Any other category: ?
I asked him. But he is not afraid of me. -_- I will probably take away his toys for his arrogance.
[Note: s uploaded after brightness and contrast balancing]
Thanks for help.

Yes I will use a cup or similar item next time,✌️
Neon tetras keep away from him but occasionally fight a lil among themselves.(play football as many members here call it).
Due to similar coloration many people here ask if these small fish (tetra) will grow into the big one(betta)! [Note: goldfish, arowana, flowerhorn, Id-shark(catfish) & guppy are common here. Any other fish is a wonder for many people around my area. Mention of Shrimp is another long hilarious story in itself]
