Betta before and afters

I was looking back at some older pics of my fish and was surprised at just how much they've changed in such a short time. My girls were so tiny and now they are losing their baby look and getting bigger fins, more color etc. Aenara is the only one who for some reason, has not grown one millimeter since I got her. She's healthy and active but just won't grow. Her before pic shows her full tail and the after is her poor tail all chewed up. It's growing back slowly, but it's coming in very thin and transparent. It's a rare pic as she seems embarrased of her tail and rarely shows it for the camera. Angel and Noelle have grown quite a bit and are developing lots of color.
Phlox was only 3 months old when I got him and he still had his baby fins. He was quite scruffy looking with a touch of finrot already when I brought him home. He was so cute though I couldn't resist him! Now, a few months later he's a very big healthy boy with magnificent fins that he likes to show off.
If anyone else has before and afters of their fish post them here!

I have Alexander before and after that are kind of startling and a couple of JT. He has not changed so much but is still very young.

I think they are all very changed and I thank their mommy that the little girls of Phloxface's survived. They are going to be beauties and to think we came so close to losing them in our community. ...... I am just so thankful they are still with us.

Wow Rose they have changed. Very beautiful. It'll be interesting to see if Royell's coloring will stay the same or change as he grows. He's still pretty young and his coloring is still coming through in on his body. His fins still have a long way to gotoo, but are very full already.

Phlox- it is so good to see your gilrs so healthy, when they weren't too helathy when you brought them home. They've come a long way and look beautiful. Natalie

Those are great improvements. It makes me wish I took some pictures of Firecracker. I got him as a pity buy, he was pale and constipated. After 3days of 2inch water and some peas he turned into a vivide red/purple vt ;D

Rose: I love that first picture of Alexander! He looks like he's in a big hurry to get somewhere!  ;D  Phlox gets that same look on his face sometimes... he'll just be laying there all mellow and suddenly, something on the other side of the tank needs his immediate attention and he rushes over to investigate.  They're just so cute when they do that!
Alex probably paled out from the stress of the shipping. I haven't seen that kind of drastic color change in my males but I see it in the girls all the time. The other morning when I woke Phlox and Whisper up too suddenly Whisper turned almost all white for about 20 minutes and then back to bright red.
JT is so cute and baby like!

Oh yes I know EXACTLY what you mean...my Fuego gets that look on his face all the time. He's just swimmin around, minding his own business, when all of a sudden Cas appears right at the divider. All of a sudden he turns and high tails it right over to where she is. (and proceeds to flare and show off to her until he realizes she swam away a long time ago.) ;D It is soo cute though.

Well anyway I seem to have gotten off subject. It is amazing how much Bettas can change. I bet I'll have some good before and after pics of Cas, right now she's still just a baby.

I finally managed to get some halfway decent photos of Karma. She is so hard to photograph because she's always darting around.
First pic is her "Before" , taken a few days after I brought her home when she started feeling better. The rest were taken today. She getting a bit more blue color on her fins. She'll never be as colorful as her sisters are, but she does look better and healthier. Her eyes no longer have that sad "giving up" look she had when I brought her home.

The girls are darling and I cannot believe the difference in them! They have changed and grown up so well. I love the looks of each and every one of them, but I would have to say that I do have a soft spot for Karma. She was so beaten down when you got her and LOOK at her NOW...

Alexander was bought as a GREEN and that is why he is Alexander (started out Alexander the Green) but he got color enhancing food for the first couple of months until he refused to eat "baby betta" food anymore and the change had happened. He was that lovely shade of blue.

JT is a baby for sure. He was given to me by a friend who got him to go in his office and then was too afraid he would be lonely during the weekends. He would not have been my choice for a new betta but he is a man's betta, won't have a thing to do with me. He tolerates me feeding him but otherwise looks forward to having his previous daddy come over in the mornings and drink a cup of coffee and play with him a bit. THEY have the rapport. It is so disheartening......

Yeah, Karma is special to me too. Everytime I look at her I remember how sick she was, she was in so much pain and freezing in 58 degree water. They were content to let her suffer and die in that filthy cold water. :'( I took her home knowing that even if she died, she would die in a warm tank with someone who loved her at her side. Thank God she lived! She is so feisty now!

It's funny how Bettas recognize certain people and don't care for strangers. My fish respond to me and my brother because we are always here with them. Occasionally when guests come over and look at them they just float lifelessly and stare at them. All my friends think Bettas are so boring but that's because they don't respond to strangers the same as they do to us.
Keep working on JT, he'll come around.

I was bored and decided to bombard you guys with before and after pics of my Betta boys.

Here is Spartacus. Notice how the white trim on his tale is almost gone - I'm a bit miffed about that I kinda liked the white trimming.

I find it so amazing how their color changes a bit when they are happy and out of the cups. They both got this 'shimmer' thing going.

Jacky is a crown tail and Spartacus is a halfmoon - use to be a halfmoon-butterfly - but I guess he didn't want to be a butterfly - LOL!

Just thought I'd share some before and after pictures of my betta boy! When I first brought him home, I wasn't sure if he was going to make it- he was very colorless, lethargic, and his tail fin (and other fins) was ripped so badly that I originally thought he was a double tail.

I'm so impressed with how he's colored up and came out of his shell! He went from hiding from the mirror to flaring at it like crazy! I was actually going to post a video of him and his mirror, but the video's not working for some reason. Anyhoo:

Amazing! Great Job!

You did good !!! He looks so happy and healthy !!!

Thanks!

I forgot to apologize for the poor picture quality. A black fish in a dark tank combined with a phone camera means not too many showable pictures, lol.

He still needs a name, by the way, so I'm open to suggestions!

I say he's a Trooper, for being such a fighter and coming through such a rough time. That's got to be so rewarding to see how much he's recovered since you rescued him.

What is the 'dolphin' significance? Football team? Who's your favorite player? Or just the fun loving underwater ally? There are 40 species to get your inspiration from.....

Edit: dolphins (the ones that swim under the water)... just cause! This used to be the user name I used for everything, but I'm starting to wish I'd chosen something else. Oh well!

I think I got the video working! I realize now I probably should've held the camera the other way... lol

and if that doesn't work:

I hate (or love, whatever) to brag, but I have the prettiest betta ever!
