Betta Aquarium Too Hot?

My friend is worrying that her aquarium is a little too hot (two degrees)
I don't think it's a threat for the fish, She's just got it but the tank has already been cycling for a few weeks.

Is it worth worrying over? and if so, any advice how to fix it?

If the tank temp is above room temp, just turn down the heater a little to get the tank to the correct temp.

If the tank is at room temperature, I wouldn't worry to much about it, since it is most likely temporary.

Edited to correct since I reread your OP and see that she does have a fish in this tank...removed the question

Since she is doing a fish in cycle 2 degrees isn't a big problem. Let her know it is alright. Most of us deal with slightly higher temps during the summer months.

Where did this idea that fish like their water to be the exact same temperature all year long come from anyway? In the wild, they experience this thing called weather. It's just fine if the tank is a degree or 2 warmer in the summer. In fact, it's probably a more natural experience for the fish, to experience the seasons. What temperature is the tank at? Once you get above 82 or 83 degrees, that might be cause for concern.

It’s purely because if the temperature changes too quickly it can cause problems for the fish. They can go in to shock, have growth rate issues, respiratory issues, changes in metabolism, and cardiac paralysis. If it happens gradually it’s not a big issue, but sudden increases/decreases in temperature are dangerous because most fish don’t regulate their internal temperature and rely on their enviroment to do so.

A 2 degrees increase or decrease shouldn’t be a huge issue for your friend does she has a heater that’s regulated (meaning she can set the temperature on it) or is it one of those heat mat things that you just plug in? Unregulated heat mats are dangerous, especially in summer months. They say they only raise the temp a few degrees, but when I first started in the hobby and used one - my tank got well over 100 degrees within an hour...in the winter
