my betta has just come down with another case of finrot accompanied by some pop eye in both eyes. I just don't get it. the water parameters are always fine.

anyway, I have a snail who lives with my betta. should I take it out when medicating with maracyn?

I would take it out no matter what, but if maracyn has any sort of copper in it, you have to. If there is copper in maracyn, you will also need to run clean activated charcoal in your filter before you can put the snail back in the water. Copper is toxic to pretty much anything that lives, (though in tiny amounts, it's also necessary for many living beings), but is extremely toxic to inverts. Garden sprays meant to kill slugs and snails usually contain a form of copper in them.

thanx for the info. I would be very upset if I killed my snail. :-\

Is the finrot ragged or more even? Is it Maracyn Plus or regular Maracyn that you'll be using?

Yeah, I'd take the snail out. I don't know of meds that are invert-friendly.
