Betta and Fin rot problems

I've had a female betta fish for a year now. I have two other bettas and I usually clean the tanks every three weeks. I don't vacuum the gravel because my syphon won't start. my female betta suddenly began acting weird. She started darting around the cage. Now shes all scratched up and she began pailing. then she got fin rot. I moved her to an empty, smaller tank so she couldn't scratch herself anymore. I'm changing the water every couple of days now but she doesn't seem to get better. shes starting to worry me cause shes lying on her side at the bottom of the tank. I'm desperate what should I do? shes in a half gallon tank right now. what should I do?

When I had fin rot in my tank you used maracyn plus to treat it and all of my fish made it.

you don't have three bettas in a one gallon tank do you? One gallon is obviously too small for three bettas. You should be doing gravel vacs or waste will all build up on the bottom and your fish will get sick.

Did you test the parameters when she started to dart around?

Usually clean water with a slime coat aid like Novaqua Plus & Fish Protector together along raising the temp to 80-82. Adding VitaChem to the water will help fin regeneration.

I hope things get better & not worse.

I have added "Betta and" into your title and moved your thread to the Freshwater Fish Disease section of the forum.

Best wishes for your fish!
