Best way to build a tank stand into a concave space.

Husband has decided a normal stand will be too tall, and wants to build a small compartment, about 2ft tall instead to fill a concave space (chimney breast on one side and wall on the other). He can't decide whether to build it with doors, or just to blend in it with the wall.
I've suggested if he does that to have it flush with the back wall, and the sockets underneath it. Also, to use a water proofing material and sealant between the tank, the wall and the top of the unit, to prevent any leakages getting to the sockets, along with a small hidden door, that allows access to the plugs if anything goes wrong.
Does anyone see any holes in that idea? Am I better having the sockets above the unit, just high enough to keep it clear of water if an accident occurs? It's the only way i'm going to get my 120cm long fish tank in there, as he wants to put our 32 inch on a bracket or floating shelf (we've looked into the maximum weights various types can take, along with potential accidents - TV weighs 13.5KG) above the tank.
Tank i'm looking at is 48 inches long, by 14.5 inches width and 15 inches tall (preferably 15 inches).
We're not avid TV watchers, just mainly at tea time, or when we have guests (but that's rare), so tv off 95% of the day.
What are the strongest structures base wise? And maximum loads each structure can take, thanks in advance

There are several 2 x 4 builds out there (I'm not sure if they are referred to as 2 by 4s in the UK). They are over engineered and could hold up thousands of pounds. I've just finished building my 4th stand for a 150 gallon tank and it is very solid.

I always like the idea of doors for storage and room for filtration. As for building it flush with the wall that just depends on what type of filtration you plan on using and what you need to run from the tank to the stand.

One problem...chimney breast? Is it on a chimney to a fireplace? That's probably not the greatest idea if you ever feel like starting a fire. Unless it isn't big and you have tropical fish. Correct me if I'm wrong but to me it sounds like a bad idea.

We no longer have a fireplace as such, the council have blocked the chimney as we've now got an electric fire (which doesn't get used). It's more just 'the look' these days.

They have the right to do that? Ohhh...kings and queens and such. Sorry. It should be fine though
