Best snails for Pea Puffers

Hey guys so im getting a Malabar Puffer (pea puffer, dwarf puffer) pretty soon and I wanted to incorporate some live snails in it's diet along with frozen brine shrimp and frozen or live bloodworms. What kind of snails are the quickest to breed and are the easiest to maintain and best for my malabar puffer? I was thinking ramshorn snails.

 

I don't have experience with puffers just yet but I do with snails! Ramshorns I find breed a bit slower than pond and bladder snails. If you're going for amount of snails I would maybe go for bladder but if you care more about size I would go ramshorn. You could do both pretty easily if you wanted.

Yeah i think ill go with the bladder or pond snails since the malabar pea puffer is like 1.4 inches so the smaller will probably be better.

 

I've heard that pea puffers are the only puffers that don't actually need hard foods to grind down their teeth, so you should be fine on varied soft foods if you want to stick with that. I'm sure that they would appreciate some newborn snails every once in a while, though! Check with a LFS that sells plants; they might have some pest snails that came in with the plants that they would be willing to give you for free. I haven't had any luck in this endeavor yet, but it's worth a shot!
