Best product to speed up cycling?

I had an extended powercut and now my filter is going through a whole new cycle. Any advice? Filter start didn't really work the last time I used it. Thanks

Also I don't have any friends that have fish tanks so can't seed my filter.

 

Hi, many people here recommend tetra safe start. I used JBL bacteria, not sure how exactly is the product called and it worked for me

 

Was the media at least kept wet during the outtage? If so, you may have saved some some of the bacteria. What are your current parameters? With the stock you have in your 60 litre tank, you're better off using Seachem Stability instead of TSS+ so you can do water changes while getting your cycle back on track.

 

I tried to keep it wet but with work and stuff it wasn't always possible. The power is out again so I will get stability ready when it's back on thanks. Do I use this with prime? Or is it a standalone product? Hopefully some of the filter bacteria was re-oxygenated earlier when the power was on briefly.

Luckily my stocking has changed quite a lot compared to what is on here now I believe. I have 4 corydora catfish, a baby guppy and 1 platy now. Ammonia was at 0.5, nitrite at 0 and nitrates at 0 earlier today. I did a water change then to get it back down but since the power is off, I'm having to wait until the water gets to room temperature before doing any changes.

I've also ordered a battery powered air pump to help my fish through this as they are at the top of the tank a lot.

Quick question: Do you know how often you can use prime? Is it every 24 hours? Or 48 hours? I can never remember lol.

 

Yes, you can use Prime with Stability. You can dose Prime daily if you see ammonia and nitrites <1ppm since it will detoxify that amount for up to 24hrs. If they get above 1, you'll want to do your water change dosed with Prime. Stability you would dose daily until you're cycled.

 

Okay thank you I've just ordered stability so it should be here tomorrow. I suppose all I can do now are water changes everyday with up to 5* of prime and wait for the power to come back on .

Yehh me too from what I've heard though, it doesn't look like it's going to be on anytime soon so I'm definitely going to need that luck :/.
