I am starting a 20 gal planted tank and I have other tanks and I use EcoComplete by CaribSea, but does anyone have any other recommend any other substrates? Thanks!

Fluorite is inert by nature. The clay it is made from comes with 0 nutrients, maybe tad of iron from what i've heard. However it absorbs ferts from liquid and root tabs and fish/plant waste and slowly releases them. I would suggest eco complete but it doesn't last forever (6-12 months before needing additional ferts I think)

I haven't seen any info on that, but I see that it is sharper than other substrates so that is something to consider. Since FloraMax and EcoComplete are made by the same companies then I would think they last about the same amount of time. But since they are different materials they might not. Sorry for lack of knowledge I myself am getting into planted tanks .

Just invest in some aquasoil. You can't go wrong then.
