I normally either use aquaticarts or my lfs but aquaticarts is out of stock on what I'm looking for and due to covid i am quarantined. What better time to start quarantining fish lol. I'd like to keep it close to the east coast as thats where i am located. I've had issues with doa from west coast distributors and feel it's just the distance travelling causing stress. Any suggestions?

liveaquaria has multiple locations, one in illinois, but most of their fish are from their California facility. Even so, I live in Virginia and I recieve fish from Cali with no problem.

nah. They are good but they charge a box charge, which adds 10 bucks to your total. It kinda sucks.

wetspot is fantastic but they are in the north west. A very small dealer in north east is Tangled Up In Cichlids in NJ. They are first rate but because they are small shipping will be expensive (no bulk discount). Another small dealer that is first rate but again small so expensive shipping is aquaticclarity.com - they are in WI.

Brp933 , what types of fish are you lookin for?

If you are looking for very high quality albino super red plecos or German Blue Rams (other types of Rams also), there is a member on the forum that lives in the Northeast part of the country. He is a guru at breeding these types.

Not sure where exactly on the East coast you are at, but there are plenty of fish wholesalers that also have online direct to consumer sales.

My friend and I have bought from Imperial Tropicals a couple of times over the past few years. Each time, we have received healthy fish and they were exactly as advertised. They're flat rate s&h is $29 and they have a good DOA policy. They offer community fish, and their specialty is CA/SA/Afrcian cichlids. Check out their YouTube channel, and the tours that other fishkeeper YouTube channels have done on them.

BioAquatix is another Florida fishbreeder that sells quality fish online, but they are on a smaller scale versus the large operation that Imperial has. I haven't purchased from them before, but I would try them if they had something I wanted. I have seen some YouTube videos on them also

If you are looking for Central and South American Cichlids specifically, one of the best online retailers is Cichlids of the Americas, also in Florida. Not cheap, but large variety of stock and very high quality.
