    Hi i have a 15gal with 5 guppies , molly , 2 cherry barbs, 5 swords, snails.

I was wondering if anyone knew the best parameters for guppies and Molly's.

I tested the water 2 days ago and it was
    pH:7.6
    Nitrite:0ppm
    Nitrate: 40ppm
    Ammonia: .25ppm

I know theres supposed to be no ammonia (working on it) and the nitrate shouldnt ve that high I believe . I read nitrate should be between 5-20 ppm. Is that true? Thanks

Ammonia and nitrite should be at 0 ppm and a range between 5-20 ppm nitrate is ideal.

Agree, although sometimes up to 40ppm nitrate can be fine (some fish are more sensitive than others and may not like it). The above is true for all fish, not just guppies.
