Best Online Aquarium Plant Store?

I have purchased plants for Aquarium Coop. They were nice plants; I would buy again.

One of my local fish stores buys their plants from Dustin's fishtanks. I have not purchased from them online, but the plants I purchased from the LFS were great.

If you just purchase a few plants, you probably will have to pay shipping. However, shipping may be free if you place a large order. Unlike shipping live fish, plants can easily be shipped USPS Priority Mail, so shipping is not unreasonably expensive.

Remember that there is no such thing as free shipping, just like there is no free lunch. If the retailer is offering free shipping, they have to increase prices to compensate. They may offer free shipping on a large order to encourage you to buy more, which makes their fulfillment process more efficient. They would rather ship one large order than several smaller ones.

As far as the best! I think everyone will have there own say on that.

I have bought on here from members over the years and the plants were awesome.

I also buy a lot from Dustin's fish tank.

He always gives you more then you buy, and I know when I place orders the shipping is free.
Maybe because I always buy a lot of plants as well as a few times a year.

Have you looked at Modern Aquarium? I've ordered from them and had mostly good luck and generous quantities on their stem plants. This isn't necessarily a reflection on them but could be me being a newbie but even though everything comes in looking amazing I've had several plant types die off on me. If you sign up for email you get a promo code.

I've been happy with plantfactory and dustinfishtank and to a lesser extent aquariumcop. The problem is finding the plants you want - the less common they are the more likely you have to order from more than one place - just try looking for crypto flamingo, purple aflame or mexican oak.

I've used aquarium co-op, they are decent, the plant selection isn't as diverse.

For me, ebay was the best, it allowed me to find what I was looking for and help support regular people rather than large companies, most of the time shipping was free, maybe its baked into the price of the plants but the prices didn't really differ from the big guys, (without their shipping charges)

So far i've used wetplants.com, dustinsfishtanks.com and aquariumcoop.com and I've never received a bad batch. I want to maybe give liveaquaria and imperialtropicals because I've heard good things about them.

I have had the best luck with Dustins Fish Tanks, usually good portion size and healthy plants. Aquarium Co-op isn’t bad either and they have great customer service and won’t leave a bad taste in your mouth if there is an issue.

I did order from Jacobs Aquarium once and his prices are cheap but the portion is very small. So you may see a plant at Dustins or the Co-op that is double the price and I can assure you it’s because of what you’re getting. I’ve gotten Crypts from Dustins that I can separate in 3 seperate plants because you get multiple nodes, where Jacobs you will get a single node. But it’s all fair pricing but just know you’re getting what you pay for.Jacobs can be nice if you want a lot of variety for a lower price.

I agree with jake37 though that the challenge is the variety. It seems like a lot of sites have different niches and sometimes they don’t overlap the way you want on selection. And with shipping costs you normally want to get a few plants to make it worth your he while so it’s not ideal to order from multiple sites.
