I just bought this one:

I'll update once I've received it. Shipping is free, and it says it only takes 6-8 business days (once it ships). I hope it's not too good to be true; $60 for a fixture and two bulbs is an awesome deal.

I have that brand of lighting but a bit different, mine came with four bulbs and night led. I have no complaints so far.

Good to know! I thought about the four-bulb fixture; they're selling it fr $100. But that would be almost 4WPG in my tank, which I think would be a bit too much.

you can always have the other two turned off.

I wasn't sure about that. Apparently you can't use the standard WPG rating on T5HOs...? (My boyfriend has been looking into lighting a lot more than me, so I'm still learning.) Anyway, apparently this lamp will shoot me from low-light territory to high-light or possibly too much light. I was already planning to get some Excel, and I've been dosing Comp, and I can raise the lamp up a bit if necessary. I'd still rather be on this end of the spectrum, as I have methods to decrease the lighting, but you can't make more light out of two 34W bulbs ;D

It's kind of exciting knowing I have so many more plant options with more lighting. My LFS had some rotala indica last time I went (rotundifolia) but I read that I didn't have enough lighting. Maybe I'll be able to get some soon!

I was thinking of buying the quad T5HO for my 90g but haven't decided yet. I'm looking at another quad T5HO which has a 5 year warranty on the ballast which gives me a better feeling. I've heard bad things about the Odyssea ballasts and haven't had a good experience with other aquarium brand ballasts myself so I'm really reluctant. :s Though, their prices and the fact they come with nice bulbs really make me want to order some. I just don't know.

well I paid about 120$ for my 48in so if I had bought this one and it broke I could buy another one and still be even. now if that one broke id be very unhappy lol.

Well the other quad I'm looking at is $120 while this one is $100 so they're pretty close. I really like the bulbs and night lights with the Odyssea though. I don't have a lot of money so I'd be very angry if it broke lol so I'm kind of leaning towards the 5 year warranty light but I also love the prices on the smaller 20" Odyssea lights which I haven't been able to find anywhere else.

I'd really love to see if anyone on here has had an Odyssea light for a while! I've found some reviews where people had horrible experiences while other ones they've had great experiences so I'm just not sure about it. Especially after just having horrible ballast experiences with my prior T5 lighting myself I don't want to deal with that again. I guess you're taking a chance buying cheap though.

kinezumi89 will post when it arrives and when I get mine, might be awhile I will to. hopefully someone else will see this and let us know what they think. I really don't think there is to much to a ballast like this. hard to believe a company could screw it up but don't know tell ya try it.

This is the one I have:

I have no complaints, I just have the 2x 54W T5 HO lamps Actinic Blue turned off since I do not have a use for them, the other 2 bulbs are on. I have been thinking of replacing the Actinic bulbs with 2 6500 Daylight bulbs in the future when I decide to get a CO2 system. I purchase this particular product in April 2012 through ebay for $91 including shipping. They actually sent me two of them not sure if that was on purpose by accident.

The only complaint I have about this unit is the electrical plug, looks like an adapter. Kind of big and bulky for my taste. I just wish it was a regular plug. It looks like this but imagine two of them:

Plus a separate plug for the LED light.

With anything "too good to be true". Hope for the best, expect the worst.

I have an Odyssea fixture that came with a tank. I've only used it a few months but it has put in several years of service for the owner before the ballast went out.

Well, my lamp arrived and it's all set up! Prompt and packaged well with no damage. Plugged it in and it looks amazing! SO much brighter than my 68W of T8s that are decades old. We don't quite like the spectrum (it looks a little yellow) so we'll probably replace one of the bulbs. Besides that, no complaints!
