Best Light for growing plants?

What's your go-to light for growing plants? I'm curious to see if a general consensus can be established.

 

I've been using a Beamswork model with 6500K leds on my bigger tank, they have done great for the plants I have. I'm upgrading the smaller tank with a current USA light, I'll see how that does in a month or two.

What kind of plants do you keep?

 

I have some older 15w fluros for my 2ft tanks(MJ-70 model), and use assorted brand globes (some globes are better than others but just depends what I can get), I think the best I tried was 10,000K??
I *thought* the new LEDs looked great and wanted to upgrade from my old fluros, but the old fluros are way better at showing red coloring etc imo -the fish didn't look as bright under LED light. Another tank I had with LED lighting also grew algae all over the glass, but it wasn't the best quality tank so not fair to compare it. I sold that tank and the other 2ft LEDs, and back to my old fluros lol. I guess it really depends a lot on preference, and also the type of fish but they're all pretty good for plant growth, I don't think you can really say one is better than the other because there's a lot of different factors, depth of the water/size of tank/size of light etc etc.

 

What kind of plants do you keep?

I have Rotola, Amazon Sword, Water Wisteria, and, Java Ferns.

 

I use Beamsworks DA FSPEC and the new fluval 3.0 by choice .I have used many different lights but these two are my go to for dependability and power/color .
Both are good lights. I use a cheap $5 Ebay dimmer on my beamsworks. The fluval is the bomb right out of the box !
