Best Gph Rate?

I believe it is around
6-10x for hob
3-5 for canister?
What about internal filters?
Or do people opinionate it?

 

I heard 6-8 or 6-10 for canister filters. I don’t remember which three but I know I saw that here. Not sure about internal filters but I always aI'm for at least 6 times per hour minimum for any tank.

Ok, what do people consider internals? There re some cheap ones with good gph. Is it the same as HOB's?

 

Well its more complicated then that. You have to take into consideration tank size, stocking and filter efficiency. So there is no easy answer to this question.

 

Oh yeah, if you are betta obssessor, and you have a betta in a 55, then filtration would be fine if you had a 100 gph filter.

Even with just one fish, you’re going to want a higher turnover rate than 100 gph.
