Slowly have been trying to up my food quality but there's so many choices!
Right now I have been feeding Wardley flake because they were slightly better than tetra flakes. What are some good foods for a tropical community? Some small mouths but I don't mind crushing pellets.

Northfin makes really good pellets and they have small-large pellet sizes, which you can find at petvalu, Big Al's and some other stores. i do like National Geographics flakes and pellets as well but they are only sold at petsmart

Can NEVER go wrong with New Life Spectrum pellets or flakes. My fish love it, plus it's all natural and has garlic inside which all fish find irresistible. Trust me, best food to have for your fish.

My go to brand is Omega One and Hikari. Omega One actually lists their ingredients instead of listing as fish meal. I recently started getting Bug Bites small pellets.

Nothing wrong with fishmeal. The skin, head, guts are all very good. It has a lot more nutrition than the typical insect and invertebrates most fish eat in the wild anyway. Whole cod and whole halibut in fish food seems like a big waste, imo.

I'm currently using Fluval Bug Bites tropical formula supplemented with Tetramin flakes, freeze dried bloodworms, frozen brine shrimp, live fruit flies, and Hikari Betta Bio-Gold pellets. My betta likes them all but his favorite is the live flies and his least favorite seems to be the brine shrimp. I think he eats better than I do

I've used all of those actually. Bug Bites is really good and natural also made by Fluval, but in my opinion New Life Spectrum is the best food on the market. All my fish have the best coloration when they eat it, along with keeping their immune systems healthy.

Yeah that's a good combo, I'm actually using them both right now. I have NLS "Community Fish" + NLS "Flake Food" (which by the way is a really really good flake food) + Bug Bites Cichlid Formula

I like New Life Spectrum for Pellets / Flakes and Hikari for Freeze-Dried or Frozen food. I heard great things about Fluval Bug Bites, but I doubt I will run out of food anytime soon since I feed every other day hahaha!
