I currently have a 20 gallon long tank with 2 neon tetras and 1 kohaku swordtail (planning on adding more tetras soon - I know they're schooling fish- any recommendations on the best build for my tank?
Thanks in advance!!

You should add some bottom feeders. I recommend corydoras, which should be kept in groups of 4+. You also have space for more fish after that, maybe another Schooling fish or some gouramis. Another option is snails or shrimp.

Depends on the substrate though. If it’s rough or sharp, I wouldn’t recommend corydoras.

With neons, it would have to be cooler water.

Ghost shrimp do well in those conditions.

How many ghost shrimp would you recommend?

They literally have no bioload. I would go with 10 though. Watch out for mislabeled whisker shrimp. They are basically evil.
