I don't feed my Betta pellets but I bought some dried up bloodworms in the containers , and someone told me it's too high in fat or something and not to use as a daily meal . I heard to use frozen bloodworms instead which I'll be looking into .

Can someone tell me the best food to feed bettas ? I don't feed him much . Maybe 1 -2 tiny pieces of food but he someone got bloated recently so I'm not sure if it's the bloodworms

Please reply! Thanks

Betta's shouldn't only be fed bloodworms as they're fatty and lack other essential nutrients needed for a healthy fish. They should just be treats fed once or twice a week. Freeze dried foods should also be soaked in some tank water before feeding to lower the risk of digestive issues.

A high quality food should be the staple food that's fed daily such as Omega One betta buffet pellets, New Life Spectrum betta pellets, Fluval Bug Bites, or Northfin betta bits. It's important to vary their diet because different foods have different nutrition and it will ensure a well rounded diet.

My bettas LOVE fluval bug bites! Their fins have gotten long and luxurious since I started feeding it. I also use it in the rotation for my community fish. They all love it!

I have the basic "BettaMin" pellets by Tetra . Would those work or should I get big bites?

It would work, but it isn't the best kind of food to feed because the ingredients have a lot of plant based things in it. Do look into getting another type of food to feed that's of higher quality.

I'm going to order the bug bites today . Also, you re supposed to soak their food right to help it digest better ?

You're supposed to soak any dry foods to prevent it from swelling up inside them.
