Best canister filter for a canister newbie? Have a 65g, would like something rated for around 130. Something quiet. My current HOB is loud.

Eco-Bio Block...gimmick or worth the money?

Aquatic Arts....good service, and quality fish?

I personally recommend the Jbl crystal profI external range, they are quiet and energy efficient and have various models for different sized aquariums.

I personally like the sunsun canisters. They are a good value for the money. I'm running a 403 on my 36 right now and that will transfer over to my 75 when I get it set up along with a sunsun 404 to go along with it.

The eco bio block sounds like a gimmick to me. Does it work? Probably... but just being a porous rock that gives bacteria a place to call home should be living in your canister filter already as biomedia (matrix, bioballs, ceramic rings, etc)

I've ordered marimo moss balls from aquatic arts before on amazon and was very satisfied with the price, quality, and speed of delivery. I also use Trins Fish for ordering plants and fish as well. I've had great success with them. I also have a coupon that will take off 15% if you decide to use them.

My Eheim canister filter brand is quiet. But the provided instructions were totally unhelpful. Youtube and google are great, I'm new too so don't have anything to compare to though.

Love my aquatic arts shrimp but suspect the java moss they were shipped on my have resulted in my pond snails next time I'm going to dump out the bags into a tupperware and aclimmate there and scoopoit only the live animals! Perhaps with a rinse off bucket of declorinated water instead of just dumping whole bags contents into my tank. Oops!

You can get the economy bio block onpetco for half the price. 10 and 20 dollars . I have 2 of them.

My LFS mentioned the SunSuns as good canisters. Any hum at all? My LFS's supplier swears by the Eco-Bio Blocks which was why I was curious. Says it keeps the water really clear? Looking to buy Pueple Mystery Snails, Panda Corys, and Marimo from an online fish store.
