If you don't mind the cost, I think Tahitian Moon is the best. Other sands (very much cheaper) has cons.
I have black magic sand and it is not completely fine black if look closely. It reflects on the light also.

I bought my black sand at a Petco...I don't have any complaints about it.

Got mine at petco too. Pretty coarse and settles quickly.

I only hear blasting sand may be sharp ( black magic, black diamond, black beauty...), while taihitan moon is actually an aquarium approved black sand. So I don't think there is any problem with bottom feeder.

Estes brand is my favorite.

I second this. Just setup a 20G with Estes brand. Mine was purchased under the "Stony River" name and I absolutely love it. Very soft in my opinion, settles very well and looks great. Here's a pick (a little blurry) of my tank with it.

As far as where to get it, I'm not sure for your area. I got it at my LFS which is just a local chain, not national. Just check the back of the packaging and see if it says Estes. My understanding is that it's sold under a few different names.

The petco sand is nice BUT, at $15 (avg) for 20 lbs it'll be very expensive to do 180 gallons. You're talking about 10 bags = $150 +-. Personally, I'd go with blasting sand. You'd be able to do the whole tank for less than $30.

It depends on budget though. Blasting sand only costs $1 for 10lb. It doesn't have uniform fine black color as well as not widely considered aquarium approved as brand like Tahitian Moon.
