Best and Worst fish store names

What are the best and the worst fish store names you've heard of? What makes you like or dislike the name?

2 retired California highway patrol officers could open a place called Fish and CHiPs.

 

Most of the ones anywhere near me are just named after their suburb/area - Suburb Name Aquarium or something similar.

But one day I'll open a combined cafe and aquarium, AquariYum!

 

AquariYum - will it specialize in fresh seafood?

Petsmart. If it's supposed to be pet smart, that's just stupid, and if it's supposed to be pets mart, that's super generic for a chain store.

 

Yea I always wondered the same about Petsmart, and I also wonder if Petsmart and Petco are owned by the same parent company...same font and same colors...

I heard they are owned by two brothers, i find THAT fish shop better

 

The two LFSs in my town are named The Fish Store and Fish World.

 

There is one called That Fish Place in Lancaster PA. Awesome huge store!, worth a long drive, But The name? At least it's easy to remember!

 

My favorite LFS "Something Fishy"

 

My two local ones are called Acuario Fish Land and Mr. Fisher Acuario. Spanish is the language here so I guess they thinks it clever to use English for the names.

 

Most here are either just named after the owner or have rather uninspired names. One of the most uninspired and nonsensical I have ever seen: "Am Außenriff" ("on the outer reef"), which was specialized on... Discus! (After they dropped the Saltwater department the name really was just a farce. Store's been closed for at least 20 years now.)

My pencils were ordered from a store named "Unter Wasser" ("under water"), that's the most creative name I have seen here in YEARS.

 

The LFS near my house is “Just Fish” (spoiler - they have more than just fish there.)

the one near where I live currently is called “That Fish Place” !

 

Oh yes, and there is one that I have not actually been to since from their adverts they seem to sell just tiny tank setups and glofish etc. as well other general pet stuff. It is called Pez Shop. (Pez being Spanish for fish).

When I was young the best fish store in my area was Water-marque. Big chain I believe but have moved too far from there so haven't been in many years.

Now I have Repxotics or acres Aquatics as my locals. I'm going for a trial day as the Aquatics assistant at Repxotics on Tuesday. It's a great little store but has gone downhill recently and I hope I can help turn it around if I get a job there.

Acres Aquatics must be the best store I've seen for a long time. The selection of healthy fish and knowledge of the staff is all top notch.

The closest freshwater LFS (one hour away) Is called The Waterfront. Boring.

There's also one called the Fish Tank.

Mine is "Paws and claws inc." I think a more fitting name to represent what they sell is: "Paws and claws and fins and wings and feet and tarsomeres inc."

 

Oh, and I thought this was a "Unigue" name, "Moby Dick Pet Store", always stop in when I visit my son in Michigan. "Great" driftwood pieces and prices...

Just wondering, why do you put quotation marks around adjectives? I have probably been wondering for about half a year now.

 

Only local one around me is called Cra Z Pets.

 

One LFS is named The Fish Factory, another is named Best Fish, and the other is Aquatics Unlimted. I've never been to Best Fish because the other two stores are 10 mins away. Plus, Best Fish is downtown and parking is not free.

It's not about the best fish stores, but the best fish store NAMES.

 

There’s one near me that’s literally called fish store.

Oh yeah I also remember a store named Bestbetta when all their bettas are in cups, and are either sick or dead. Only 1/2 were healthy out of the whole wall of bettas.

We have one called The Fish Store, but the one i went to today is just called Fish World. The Fish Store was featured on a fishtuber's channel for an episode, though.

 

We don’t have any funny ones, just generic names. We do have a swell and the abyss , which was also featured on a popular fishtubers channel.
