Best And Quietest Air Pump?

Of the air pumps on the market today what do you consider to be the top brand and best operating unit? I can not remember which brand I have had over the years. I have been out of the tropical fish (fresh) for about 4 years. I am in the process of getting another 75 to 125 gallon tank. I prefer the larger tanks to me much easier to maintain. With a good canister filter and accessories its a fun hobby to have. I was in it for about 30 years and miss it. a lot has changed almost everyday and that includes air pumps. I usually run 2 bubblers so need a pump maybe handle a third. All feedback greatly appreciated.

I'm interested to know this as well! I am currently running a tetra whisper 40 on my 30 gallon, I have it split 3 ways for 2 undergravel lift tubes and one sponge filter (was just an airstone but I decided to add the filter later)

I have it closed in a cabinet under the tank and I barely hear it at all. I am somewhat new to fishkeeping so I don't have a lot of frame of reference.

 

Aquatop has been the quietest brand so far for me out of whisper and a few other brands.

I have been in the hobby for over a year now and I have three whisper pumps, no problem with them and they are very quiet. I can buy them everywhere including Walmart.

 

Alita pumps are the quietest pumps on earth !
The smallest unit 6a may be too large for your needs though?

I run 2 alita 60s and t hey are quitter then a pump 1/10 its size and power.
The table top fan that cools them is louder and is new ...

 

Whisper pumps and Alita are the quietist from my experience. Meds is reputed to be pretty silent as well, just haven’t tried it personally

 

I gave up on trying to find a cheap and silent HO pump. Ten years ago I installed this in the basement and ran a line to the first floor. It has been running flawlessly, and pushes enough air for several aquariums including (till it leaked yesterday) a 150 gallon that is 32" deep. I highly recommend this product.

 

I have a Fusion 600 running 2 AquaTop caf-40 sponge filters and a caf-60. Variable flow and so quiet my mom couldn't find the pump! lol

 

IMO not tetra! Those things touch one little thing and they vibrate so loud! My top fin one is pretty quiet.

I have Tetra Whisper 10 and 40 in use, as well as Aqueon Quietflow 10, 20, 40, 60.

The Aqueon pumps are more efficient from a "power use to output" ratio and have built-in check valves.
My Aqueon 40 pump is very noisy, so it's in a cabinet.

All the others are fairly quiet considering they have vibrating bladders.

QF P40 - 2.8 watts - 1.74 L/m
QF P60 - 3.2 watts - 2.87 L/m

Check out the mylivewell quietest pump on Amazon. Its low power but is unbelievably quiet. I have 2 of them.
