Best 15+ Gallon Tanks For Beginners?

HI everyone!

Today I was planning on purchasing my first real tank for my Betta Andre. I had decided on getting the Fluval Edge 6 gallon/23 litre with LED Lights and filter. However, upon further research, I believe that I need a minimum of 15-20 gallons to help with maintenance and to stock a bottom-dwelling fish also. Unfortunately the Fuval Edge only comes in 6 and 12 gallons (and the 12 gallon becomes higher, not longer, not ideal for Andre).

In light of this, I have been trying to find other nice Fluval tanks (I would prefer Fluval because all of their equipment ie. heater, filter, thermometer, gravel cleaner, algae cleaner, pre-filter sponges, biomax renewal kits, etc are compatible with the specific tanks and readily available for me).
The only one I can find that appears to increase in length and not height and is still relatively 'pretty' is the Fluval Vista Aquarium Kit (which is available in 16 and 23 gallons). However- I am in Australia, and cannot find anyone who stocks it, or can ship to me here. It's incredibly frustrating!!

If anyone can tell me where I can purchase this tank in Australia, or can recommend any other 15-20 gallon Fluval tanks, I would greatly appreciate it!
(I am also open to other tank suggestions ie. not fluval, so long as I can purchase all the other compatible equipment/accessories and it is of good quality).

Thank you guys in advance!

It's cheaper to buy everything separate

The Fluval Edge itself only comes with the filter. All the other Fluval products I will be buying separately. I just liked the idea that they are compatible with the tank (and available at my lfs).

Equipment is generally compatible across different brands. If it's not, it's because it's part of a specialized kit--and then it'll all come in one box... I wouldn't worry about only doing Fluval.

Oh, perfect!

In that case, can anyone recommend ANY 15-20 gallon long tanks that are available in Australia and won't break the bank?? (Preferably $200-$300, nothing too far upwards of $300, unless it is like a kit meaning I would have to spend less on equipment!!)

What chain stores do you have over there?

(And as an aside... I've always dreamed of visiting Australia... seems like such a fascinating country!)

why not get something like a 20 gallon long at your local fishstore, get a filter rated 220 gallons per hour an adjustable heater

I will have a look and get back to you!!

I haven't had the pleasure of travelling yet (something I hope to do through uni), so I don't really have anywhere else to compare it too, but Australia is definitely a pretty awesome place! What country are you from?

I feel like building my own as my first tank could go quite wrong

We are here to help.

Something like an aqueon quietflow filter if for 20 try to go for a 30, 30 then get 40 - you know? I like aqueons it's simple and quiet in a sense.

Adjustable heaters would be best.

Also can't go wrong with some bacterial supplements and prime conditioner for the water.

Don't forget to pick up a master test kit as well to test your water
