Best 10 gallon tank equipment?

I’m getting a 10 gallon soon and I need help on finding the best QUIET filter or air pump. I can’t stand any buzzing noises in my room, so they need to be quiet lol.
I think I’m going to go with a sponge filter so if anyone has any recommendations on quiet air pumps that would be great.

Also does anyone have a recommendations on heaters for 10 gallons? Or any recommendations on what lights and light timers I should get? (It would also help if these things were as inexpensive as they can be, but I’m willing to spend a little more money if it’s necessary.)

(This will be a planted tank with my betta, a couple shrimp, and nerite snails.)

I'd suggest a corner matten filter with a 3watt chinese pump behind it. They require pretty much zero maintenace about every 1- 2 years and mine all perfectly quiet.

Ty! Could you tell me where you got them from?

Corner matten filters are usually a DIY type set up that was mentioned.

Many YouTube videos on them.

Or the Swiss Tropicals has complete kits with the foam sheet, glass strips to hold it in place and the uplift tube. You would have to get a tube of clear GE 100% Silicone caulk to secure the glass strips in place that hold the foam sheet in the corner matten filter shape. I think Swiss Tropicals sells that also.

If you go the HOB filter route, Aquaclear filters and surprisingly the Top Fin Silentstream filters are quiet. I have them both. They also both have adjustable flow knobs.

Hygor makes a quiet air pump for about $25 )it is the quietest I've even had).
You could certainly just do a regular sponge filter, but the matten filters go farther between cleanings.

1-2 years between cleaning the matten sponge, or 1-2 yrs between changing out the pump?

As for heaters, Aqueon & the Aqueon Pro heaters have good warranties and supposed to have good customer service. I've got one of both and have had no issues.

Eheim Jager heaters have been around forever and have a solid reputation and the brand Hygger on Amazon appears to be an up an coming brand for aquarium equipment as well.

For what it's worth, I alsp have two Top Fin heaters (100w & 200w) that came with kits from PetSmart and they have always worked for me also.

For lights and timers, I use the cheap mechanical timers that are sold in 2-pks on Amazon for $10-12. I have them on my aquarium lights and even on some lamps around the house for when the family is out of town.

Lights on a planted 10g, there are a lot of options. You may want to also post a thread asking about lights in the Plants section.
