Belly up with finrot and ick

I have a one year gold fish all by herself in a 30 gallon tank. She has ick for 10 days and I’ve been treating using API cure. Also she had rot fin. for the last 4 days and I am treating it with API fin and body cure. Since the nitrite level was up last Sunday I got Seachem Primd to get nitrite level down.also set the temperature to 82 degrees and added salt.

But she has been floating at the top of the tank with her belly up and from I can tell it could be swim bladder disease. But swim bladder does not have any cure from what I can tell
Any advice? Thanks

I’m sorry about your goldfish! Can you fill out the emergency template and perhaps provide a photo of the fish and the tank? :)

Just some thoughts:
Ich is not a bacteria and right now you are treating with an antibiotic from what I understand. Is this because of the fin rot?
Goldfish tanks need weekly water changes imo, your current setup doesn’t seem to allow for two week changes because of the nitrites
I would feed a better quality sinking food as this can reduce the air they intake when feeding
Water changes will help greatly

I am treating ick with API® | SUPER ICK CURE™ and rot fin with API® | FIN & BODY CURE™. I changed water 6 times in the past 8 days since I saw the ick symptom. On an average I changed 30-50% water.
Also reduced nitrite with

Seachem Prime Fresh and Saltwater Conditioner

What food do you suggest? Frozen peas that are microwaved and skin removed? I fed her flakes last 3 days and she did not eat at all

I do not see any ich from the photos currently but I do see fin rot. I personally feed my fancies Hikari sinking pellets and I will also feed repashy I just haven’t bought it yet

Because of API body cure which makes the water muddy it’s hard to see ick on top of her head

I would continue treatment with every other day water changes of 20-30%. Fast her for a few days and see if it helps with buoyancy issues. Prime is a water conditioner and does not really reduce nitrites. Your tank does not seem to be able to handle the bioload if there are nitrites and that may have caused some disease

If you aren't running your filter you will need at least daily water changes, even when you are running the filter, keeping ammonia and nitrites below 1ppm and nitrates below 10ppm at all times.

If you aren't doing this you are going to get fin rot, cloudy eye, skin lesions ect. In the 40-60 -80 ppm nitrates ranges. Maybe not at 20ppm, but at 20ppm nitrates fin healing and regrowth takes a long time which is why I recommend keeping nitrates at 10ppm or lower.

All the meds in the world aren't going to make up for poor water quality, the fish won't be able to fight these things off and won't be able to heal and grow back from the damage and issues will keep returning. The nitrates will suppress the immune system and open them up to infections. The fish could probably fight off the ich also. Below 10ppm nitrates and no ammonia or nitrite exposures.

I hope this info helps!

It detoxifies nitrite and nitrate

For treating rot fin using API body cure for the first two treatment I am not supposed to change water. But for the last two treatments I am changing 25% of water

Agree with the above, another thing, the temperature seems very high for goldfish, maybe this is to try to cure the ich, but I am not sure that is a good idea.

API cure instructions said temperature should be 82 for effective treatment

Yes, I thought that would be the reason. Still it seems high for goldfish.

Why did you raise the themp? I would get it back to the 70s
Hikari foods are low quality meals and fillers. I have not seen the recipie for every one of their foods but the sinking goldfish food is junk. I suggest that you toss it, It costs the fish more energy to digest low quality food then the fish acually gets out of the food.
don't feed the fish for several days or untill you can get somthing better. and hopefully the fish will be back to swimming normally. I suggest ultra-fresh goldfish food. repashy is great too!

I don't have goldfish but agree the Ultra Fresh foods have much better ingredients than Hikari.

Yeh heat it speeds up the ich lifescycle. but I would hurry up and get the tempurature down. Its too much for him. I suggest you use ich X next time or a medicine that does not requrire raising the temp when cold water fish are being treated.

I see black spots on face and red spot under the belly. Any ideas what the issue is? Black spots mean ick healing?
Red spot
My goldfish died
