    Hey FishLore!
My mom and I were each privately thinking about getting an aquarium. I want a betta, she wants dwarf frogs. Luckily they can live together, usually quite peacefully. I stumbled upon an old $5 10 gal tank at a LFS with water stains and took it home. All the silicone needs to be redone and I'm still in the process of trying to clean the stains.
Soon I'm hoping to start with some plants and get a healthy planted ecosystem going before adding some frogs and a betta.
I'm 99% sure I'll have some kind of problem(s) and I'm glad I can come here for help.
    Thanks!

I also suggest buying a new 10g for $10 + tax. You'd spend half that much buying the silicone (plus caulk gun and painter's tape) and it can be tricky to apply. It took me three tries to reseal my 29g correctly.

    Also, welcome to Fishlore. :)

Oh, my dad is an airplane builder and our garage is a giant workshop. We have caulk guns and tape and masks and scrapers up the whazoo; I just bought some 100% GE silicone from a fresh tube. As for the skill required to do it... we'll see, I guess!

Sounds like you guys can just about repair anything. Of course, we would all love to know how this project turns out.
