Beginner plant help??

I have a 10 gallon that I am currently preparing to put sand in, and plant. Can anyone give me any ideas or advice as to what plants are simple and hardy for beginners?
I currently do not have a light on this tank, so probably low light/natural light is all the plants will get.
Thanks in advance!
Live plants are so terrifying!

HI there I would suggest anubias , which do not require substrate and will be ok with low light. You can see more information at:

Thanks so much! I have hornwort and Anacharis (spelling?) but they are in a tank with a light and hood, they're easy, they just float there. Lol

This is a great thread

From my personal experience, the easiest most hardy plants to keep that I have had personal success with are anacharis, anubias nana, anubias coffeefolia, marimo moss balls, crypt wendtii, dwarf sag, java fern, and windelov java fern. There are many others that also are known to be easy but I don't have personal experience with them like amazon swords, java moss, bacopa, and water sprite. Plants that I have been told are easy to keep but I have had no success with are water wisteria and jungle/corkscrew vals.

Thanks! So I'm thinking water wisteria, anubias, and maybe a couple moss balls. Although I really like the look of Water Sprite.

Water wisteria is great! I just got my first bunch from Peabody's Paradise and it's really pretty. I also like Java Fern, Anubias Nana, and moss balls.

Sorry just a couple more questions. Should I quarantine my plants after I get them? And do they need acclimated to the tank just like fish?

I've never acclimated plants. Just check them over for snails, wash them off and stick them in

Ich can be transferred via decor and plants, so I would quarantine them unless you trust your source. I try to acclimate my plants, but I always get sort of temporary melt whether I acclimate or not.
