Beautiful Betta Find!!! <3

I went to petco with my oldest yesterday... and we found this guy in a dirty cup.. I asked them to change his water before I brought him home because I thought it was cruel to leave him in such a waste filled cup (hour drive home) He was $20....however... I thought he was the most beautiful betta ive ever seen... and he became even more beautiful when I brought him home and put him in his new 20 gallon...
I'D LOVE TO GET SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT TO NAME HIM!!

Wow!!!! He's amazing! Petco really has some nice bettas pop up sometimes.

Maybe name him Orchid or some kind of flower

For a name, have you been on vacation to anywhere really beautiful? A location could inspire his name. Some examples: Bermuda, Madrid, Sanibel, Maui, Antigua. It could be a place that has meaning to you, or even just a beautiful place you'd like to visit someday.

Someone taught me a nice trick to record video and use still shots from the footage to get some pretty awesome, crystal clear photos.

 

I'd call him either Melvin or Henry. Yes, my fish get people names if they are named. I'm not into the whole imaginitive naming thing, like naming them after a jewel or something.

Mine is Phil. Named after Philip Seymour Hoffman...

 

Especially if the fish is a male. If it's a guy, it needs a manly name. I wouldn't wanna be called like Sapphire or something lol.

 

I must say he was love at first site.. but the condition of the bowel concerned me enough to ask the employee to change all the water... so he did promptly .. he even forgot to give me my fish he was busy changing water.. lol

His new tank mates names are:

Minnie & Misty (besties)

Yeah I always get sad in the fish section of the Petco near me. There's never anyone staffing it, so the tanks are neglected and I always have to ask the cashiers to get someone if I need help. Many tanks and Betta cups have dead fish that are often still there a week later.

That's just sad... here at least the staff is anal about people buying fish.. like they won't let you check out with a tank and fish in the same trip and question you.. they do care..here at least.

 

He is almost exactly like mine! It's spooky! I want to call mine Arrow (short for arowana, the dragon fish) but my kiddo calls it Marshall from Paw Patrol because it's got red on it

I think bettas are much more active the bigger the tanks they are in <3 I like to think they are happier... I'm researching names... then I look up at him... and am like nope that's not the name for him... lol I'm picky

I agree!! Mine is in 10 gallon with an AquaClear 50 set on high & one mate (a bn pleco named Sneakers), he is so happy!!
Gawd forbid I shut off their filter. After a few minutes of it being off for maintenance, they both start begging for the outflow!

Seriously, he looks just like Blue, AND, Blue was a Petco find. Wow. Just wow.
