Bba algae help

Ok so I have bba algae. I dont really mind it that much but now it is growing from my sand. So I need help on how to get rid of it from inside the tank. Any remove and dip methods are not an option here. I have a rubbernose pleco, i have mollies, and my pleco snacks on it pretty regularly. But I dont want it taking over my whole substrate. Will api algaefix work? I hate using it and if its necessary i usually half dose it.

I have an air stone. But I dont have any live plants.

 

I would avoid algae specific chemicals as it had a negative impact when I treated one of my tanks. Look up youtube videos of spot treating with excel or peroxide, ive had success with both.

 

Hydrogen peroxide spot dosing could work. 2ml/gallon, then do a 50% w/c 20 minutes after dosing, and keep dosing every 4 days or so.

Excel work best. Use an oral syringe and dose it right on the algae growth. follow the dosing on the bottle so you don’t over treat the water
