Getting the pleco this weekendUpdates acorn???
Lol maybe...haha if ur going tomorrow you may see me!!
IK! One of the only GOOD fish stores. This is the only place I trust with my plays! Luckily for them, they will be getting 15+ rare ones today! Pleco pics?Infinite Aquarium is 10/10! I would totally recommend it! They have great fish and plant selection, a lot of hardscape, and some super pretty tanks.
Yep! Pleco pics are here: AcornTheBetta's 29g build! | Freshwater Aquarium Builds Forum | 473592IK! One of the only GOOD fish stores. This is the only place I trust with my plays! Luckily for them, they will be getting 15+ rare ones today! Pleco pics?
Really? Not for me... Are your fish ok?There was a power outage yesterday!
They were fine. It was only half an hour. I was in the middle of a wc when the power went out.Really? Not for me... Are your fish ok?
This will be obvious, but I know next to nothing about killies, could they go in a tank with guppies and fry? (Just curious cause they look cool, and are pretty small, but have the whole killifish name lol)If anyone in sonoma or Napa county is interested in Local bred Bettas or gardneri killifish let me know. I Have mostly female Bettas at the moment in cellophane, marble, Giant variety and just bred some orange/cream veiltail. These I usually give away for store credit but figured I would put out the word since I always have Bettas growing out. I also breed gardneri killifish and have several pairs that are about to go to SF to sell that I just grew out, but again I am willing to give/sell someone in the hobby a pair of their own to breed.
If you are a member of AKA or just a killifish lover in bay area, message me and I will let you know all species that I breed and maybe we can compare notes or swap fish some day. Having a hard time finding other killifish people around.
Cheers!
The "killi" in killifish is actually a dutch term for stream or "channel" which is where they are often found, but they will eat small fish and fry if they will fit in their mouth. I reccomend them for species only since the flashy males dont like others that are bright like them usually, but I have heard people keep certain species with guppies, just never tried it myself since I want the eggs. Which ones are you curious about? Rocket killifish are super small and could work with guppies, but a gardneri may be too much, a golden wonder would be out of the question heheheThis will be obvious, but I know next to nothing about killies, could they go in a tank with guppies and fry? Rocket killis would be cool, but I was curious if it was possible. The guppy tank is a fish for profit (more like fish for new plants and fish lol), so putting fish in that eat fry is probably not the best plan. The "killi" in killifish is actually a dutch term for stream or "channel" which is where they are often found, but they will eat small fish and fry if they will fit in their mouth. Awesome! also if you decide to breed killifish let me know! I breed them for profit too. I hope you have a great day!Rocket killis would be cool, but I was curious if it was possible. If I ever do decide to stop the for profit part, I'll definitely keep killis in mind!
Yep, they are pretty good for fish. They have several species I haven' seen anywhere else. I am honestly kind of disappointed in their selection of guppies and the like. They have mollies and stuff, but the last few times I went, they didn't even have guppies!I went to Caesar’s Tropical Fish in Santa Rosa today. I know a lot of you live very south of that, but very nice store. It was a bit on the smaller side for equipment as most of the store was used to for fish tanks. Plant selection was underwhelming, but the storeowners said that because it was Sunday, most of the plants that were in stock had already been bought on Friday and Saturday. Rocks and wood selection were not very good as they just had mopani and some grey concrete looking stone (I’m pretty sure it wasn’t seiryu and if it was they were very sharp and looked like they would break very easily). They also had lots of koi fish outside in the back of the store. I wouldn’t go there to get equipment, as it’s already very far from my house, but I would definitely go back there to buy fish since where I live, there are no fish store nearby besides Petco. The only options to get fish are 40 minute drive to the city if there’s no traffic, or 30 minutes to Santa Rosa without traffic. Fish looked very healthy and very colorful too.
Pet Club takes fish or Caesar’s?Yep, they are pretty good for fish. They have several species I haven' seen anywhere else. I am honestly kind of disappointed in their selection of guppies and the like. They have mollies and stuff, but the last few times I went, they didn't even have guppies!
If you want equipment in SR, pet club has a good selection. They are also the only place I have found north of Sac that takes fish (not for credit, but at least they take them)
Pet club has equipment. Caesars has the fishPet Club takes fish or Caesar’s?
Pet club is the one that takes in fishPet club has equipment. Caesars has the fish
Yes I was there today! They will take fish if you cant sell them and they have live tubifex worms, which I use for breeding. Cesar's is pretty expensive, but they do have good quality fish. They charge 40$ for a ghost knife you could get for 10$ in the city. That's just one example, but they are local peeps who can use the business versus the big name stores!Pet club has equipment. Not sure, but I saw some at the Vacaville petsmart last week. I want some now...lolAnyone know if Ultimate Aquarium or Infinite Aquarium sells Bolivian Rams?
That's a bit far (1.5 hours at least) but I might be in that area later this week...Not sure, but I saw some at the Vacaville petsmart last week. I want some now...lol
Yeah, definitely not a short drive for me wither, but that store is WELL stocked in fish. They had a big outbreak of green algae in their tanks and the water looked a bit off (maybe part of that algae issue?), so be aware of that and expect to QT the fish. That's a bit far (1.5 hours at least) but I might be in that area later this week...
Hmmm. I don't have a qt rn so that may not be the right route for me thenYeah, definitely not a short drive for me wither, but that store is WELL stocked in fish. That said the fish looked fine from what I saw.
Look up 5g bucket QT. It might be a good route.Hmmm. I don't have a qt rn so that may not be the right route for me then
I'm pretty sure infinite does, bc they have lots of fish (even fantail, ranchu, comet goldfish that aren't feeders now). I would call them up and check! I'm going in a week if u can wait...Anyone know if Ultimate Aquarium or Infinite Aquarium sells Bolivian Rams?
I didn’t even realize it, but yeah they’re illegal hereHey guys! I just wanted to ask...is frogbit illegal in California? I really really want it and love the look of the overgrown jungle...if it is illegal are there any good alternatives? (I want long roots) Thanks!
For mention-julifhy and AcornTheBetta I see you are in the bay area also
It’s not gonna get massacred in shipping… lol. It was shipped to whatever store you decide to purchase it from as well…..Any ideas where a good place to buy seachem filters is? I'm in the market, but don't really trust amazon (shipping, and counterfeits). I'm not against shipping at all, just prefer not having to wait and going through returns for something that got massacred in transit.
I'm in the Santa rosa/ Rohnert Park area, if that helps.
Looking for two 75s or two 110s for a 55g (I cant fit a Fluval 307 like I wanted to since my stand is too short. So I am looking for something that can move a LOT of water and churn up the mulm. Two penguin 350s aint cutting it anymore)

I have two Aquaclear 70s on a 45 gal! It’s probably overkill but can’t hurt, unless you create Too much flow. I recently added cardinal tetras to the 45, and I’m observing them to see if it’s too strong. You can do the same, and turn the down the flow as needed. Not sure about the Tidals, but AQ have a decent amount of adjustment available.*shocked Pikachu face
You're not wrong...
would two 75s or 110s hurt the fish? Or just technically be overkill?
I haven't used them myself, but I have heard that the Tidals have a whole lot of flow control. My AC 20 or 30 that I have on my 10g qt tank has a little control, but not nearly enough imo (I wish I would have gotten a step higher honestly. It was too much to begin with, but since the filter has a little scum in the workings, it has slowed down a LOT. And I wouldn't mind a bit if I had more flow available.)I have two Aquaclear 70s on a 45 gal! It’s probably overkill but can’t hurt, unless you create Too much flow.
