Barb Tank up and running

HI guys,

Ive finally got my tank up and running with 3 small tiger barbs and 3 gold tiger barbs, they seem to be working really well with no nipping and curously they seem to school together despite being slightly different breeds

What I was wondering is what other type of fish should I add to the tank?

Its 25 gallon and I'm planning on getting a small algae eater pleco later on once I feel there is enough build up to maintain one.

Any tips?

 

we pelcos pruduce heaps of waste so u might when they grow trade them in

for your tank, you could look at a bristlenose pleco (since they don't get as big as common ones) or a school of otos.

Hmm how many otos would I need for a school of em?

 

My tiger barbs are in a community tank with serpae tetras, long fin black skirt tetras and black neons. I see no problems with them together and the serpae tetras being a reddish/orange is a nice combo with the tiger barbs. Good luck with your tank, tiger barbs are gorgeous!

 

at least 2 or 3, but if you can get 6, I would. they're not real hardy and it's common to lose some the 1st month.

 

How about cherry barbs for your tank? They are great fish

 

I have been becoming interested in ottos latly maybe you culd look into them there adult sizee is 2inches

I was actually thinking of this as well, I used to have some cherrys and some silver tip tetras and it was superb

I think ill get some cherrys and then a few algae eaters
