HI everybody, Taz's mum here. Went shopping today together and needless to say we ended up in an aquatic store. Gues what, there was a Betta boy in a tank being bullied by smaller fish and it kept hiding behind the heater. Try as I may I could not persuade Taz not to buy it. Low and behold we came home with him. 'no spare tank at home' (only the 38 gallon one waiting to be cycled) so had to charge down the motorway Betta in bag to another store we know of to buy a small tank for him. Luckily we had a spare heater at home but only a filter which we think would be too fierce for him.
Anyway, tank is set up with heater and Betta boy, already named 'Spot' is hanging in the bag waiting to be transferred to the tank when the water is right. He has taken three pellets so he was obviously hungry (or greedy). He seems to be happier now that he has been rescued.
I have taken Taz's debit card from her so that she cannot buy anymore for the near future and told her that she is not allowed near a fish store. She cried at the thought of the ban but I think we need to settle the ones we have in first.
By the way I did say where could I put a Betta girl to go with Flame!! Only joking!!
They did have a beautiful blue Betta boy where we went for the tank but I resisted.
