Bacteria Blooms?

Hello!

I have a 10 gallon tank and have noticed this brown fuzzy additive on my aquarium decor and the filter. I am a regular water changer and I condition the water accordingly. Are these bacteria blooms or not? If not, what are they! And how can I eliminate this?

Have you done water test recently? How long has the tank been set up and running?

Is that new driftwood that was recently put into the tank?

It's not a bacteria bloom, that would be white milky water. How long do you have the lights on for?

I turn them off at night

Probably a fungus (or just diatom?) from the driftwood. Can take it out and boil/clean it (no soap) and put it back in, along with anything else it’s growing on (don’t boil plastics just wipe them off). Otherwise can let it be and do water changes, eventually it should go away.
