Hey all. Finally back in the hobby after being gone for almost a decade. Previously had over 15 years experience. Also ran a fish room for a number years. I always focused on reefs. So with covid, I thought setting up a tank was a great way to relieve stress and boredom.

So I decided to try a planted discus tank. It’s a 60 gallon custom euro brace display. So a long time friend who a LFS called me about some new acquisition that I’ve only seen a couple of times throughout the years.

Attached is my new display and the new pipefish. I’ll keep this is updated.

Would love to hear feedback if you think starting a build thread would interest anyone.

Great looking tank. How many discus are you planning on? Going to run a RO system? That pipefish is pretty cool too

It's a very nice setup but in terms of discus that wood in particular, could potentially lead to problems. Discus can be skittish and will scratch themselves on the wood and perhaps even the dragon rocks.

My advice would be to avoid all sharp edges when it comes to discus.

Are you still thinking of discus? Pipefish are not compatible with many fish. Not sure of the water they need but they are very shy. So most other fish will out eat them and starve them. Pipefish seem to be a very hard fish to keep and only have about a year long lifespan.

I've always wanted pipefish! I heard they're pretty hard to take care of though.
