Baby pleco's

We bought a 2.5 gallon tank about 2 months ago. It has 3 fish and a hypostomus pleco. The last time I changed the water it became a little cloudy. I thought it was a bacterial blossom. After a few days the water became clearer again. We went out of town and came back to 2 baby pleco's. The mom is protective of them and stays close by. I've been trying to research how to take care of them. All I can find is they are hard to breed in aquariums. Do I need to move them away from the mom? Is there anything special I need to feed them? Should we expect more than 2 babies? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What other fish are in the tank, can you get a pic of the fry?

The fry won't be the plecos, they'll be platy fry.
Tbh your tank is far too small for any of those fish especially the plec which if it is a hypostomus can grow to over a foot given the right conditions.

Edit: that's a pond snail not a fry

 

Thanks! We wanted to get a small starter tank to get comfortable with having fish again. We are upgrading to a larger tank this fall. When the one we want becomes available. I originally thought it was a snail too. There's no way a snail could've gotten in there. The pleco is very protective of them. I found a couple of s of fry pleco's and it looks similar to what we have in the tank. Thanks for your advice

 

You might want to check Planet Catfish - planet catfish - to correctly identify your plecos, their proper care, etc.
