Baby Petco betta progress

So, I posted a while back in the betta photos thread about a baby double tail that I found at Petco - of course I had to bring "him" home with me. It has grown a bit and has turned out to be a brilliant royal blue color. It was labeled as a male, but I am starting to wonder...there really has not been any significant fin growth, and it is now the size of a young, but mature female. It was originally in a 1 gallon container, but is now housed with some livebearers in my 29 gallon planted tank....it's VERY active, so forgive my pictures. Baby pics then current pics follow........

Looks like a female to me. Does "she" have an egg spot between her ventrals?

Yes it does, but I was trying not to "hope" or rely on that too much as I know a few young males also can have a false eggspot.......I would be soooo happy if it's a girl. I have never found a doubletatil female, and would be ecstatic.

I'm 95% sure it's a girl, a haven't seen a plakat with fins so short.

YAY!!! I will, of course still be keeping an eye on her. But, I am glad that my "baby boy" has a strong likely hood of being mismarked or wrongly sexed. Very happy

The ventrals are really what made me begin to think it might be female....usually by this time at least THEY have started to show male-type growth and length.
