Baby nerite snail

I got 3 nerite snails to help with my brown algae. Bam. 2 days and they cleared the entire tank. Wow. Now I have to make sure I keep making algae.
But thats not my issue. I was told they don't reproduce in freshwater. But 1 week later I see a tiny baby snail crawling on my heater. How is that possible?

Also... can they survive out of water? I haven't seen 2 of the 3 in a few days and I'm wondering if they escaped through the small gap where the filter intake goes.

Most likely a hitchhiker pest snail

They hide very good! Mine are hard to find sometimes too. They like to go under the lip up top and get behind things and you just can't see them.

Yes more than likely a bladder or ramshorn snail from plants.

But I haven't added new plants in over a month. Now I see a baby snail? Feel like if I had a hitchhiker it would have shown a few weeks ago. Also buce plants guarantees snail free. hmmm

As for hiding... I looked under the lid. Behind the spray bar. Behind my driftwood. Nowhere.

Hmmm they are known to escape artists. I hope you find them. As for the baby it's not a nerite. More than likely you just didn't see it until now.

Should I remove the baby if I find it? Or leave it there?

I guess it depends if you want to. If you see 1 you probably will have more. Just keep a eye out i guess.

Hitchhiker snail hitched a ride on a nerite. They are so ridiculous small when they hatch it can go unnoticed.
