At pet smart they accidentally caught a platy fry while I was buying a new snail for my tank of mollies! I kept the little guy and decided to keep an update post of the little dude growing up. His name is Gus. Although this is mostly for me, I'll also ask a couple questions, so it'd be nice to have a couple people following me. Thank you!!

Week 1! Does anyone know if telling male and female platys apart is the same as mollies? Thanks! (Marble for comparison)

mine are a month old and I'm still watching to be able to gender them. I'm thinking they will be ready soon as they are over half an inch long now. I feed mine crushed up whatever the big ones are getting until they are 2-3 weeks old, then just smaller pieces. now they eat the regular food in the tank lol

If hes bigger than the mouths of all of the other fish, you can tank him out of the breeder box and let him join the rest of the fish in the main tank.

Hello friends. I know Gus was a really good fish.. she had 2 batches of healthy fry, and recently died delivering her 3rd. She was just too young, however, her legacy will forever live on in her children. Thank you for following Gus on her journey. I look back at her baby photos, and it reminds me on how much gus grew. Thank you all, and may she rest in piece.
