will baby cichlids (1''-2'') feed on a slice of cucumber or zuchini; I have both.
should I put both kinds in and see if they get curious, they will eat anything that falls from the top, and should I use regualr silverware forks?, because I also have plastic black ones that might not scare them as much as a bright silver one

If they are in with other adults, they will hide for some time..if they are brave enough to come out at feeding time, big green leafed lettuce was their favorite in my tanks...although they pick at the cukes and other things, they look more at the top for foods....or maybe it was my joys of watching them attack the lettuce on the side of the tank....

Heck, I use silverware folks, they hold the ZucchinI to the bottom, the plastic ones won't.

Yes, I put them in the dishwasher and eat with them too. No biggie.

1. there's no adults they are atleast 4 months old and I have used silverware I eat with too when I tried feeding my pleco zuchini. so it won't scare them if I use a bright silver one
