I recently got 2 new bluegill fry and I was wondering what their growth rate would be so I can start feeding them live foods. Btw I feed them a mixture of freeze dried bloodworms and flakes twice a day if that helps.

I've kept many types of sunfish, including bluegills. I am a bit amazed that yours are eating flake food; I never had success when trying that.

I'd stick with freeze-dried and frozen foods, and would suggest a variety of types rather than just bloodworms. Brine shrimp, krill, tubifex, etc.

I'll go back to the store later but bloodworms was all they had except for krill, but the krill were way too big the bluegills are 1 inch.

They will likely grow quite fast, and they would grow faster with live or frozen bbs. Daphnia is a good food for them, too.

I had one in my backyard pond for 10-12 years. Never ate anything but bugs. Kids called him ninja because he’d come out of nowhere to eat the bugs. Babies grow fairly quickly.
