Baby Betta Death :(

My baby betta Ben passed away last night. He was touch n go since I got him. I noticed that my fish deaths so far have all been fish from the same store location maybe I don’t buy from them anymore ... I’m debating whether to even purchase baby bettas anymore since the stock has been looking too small as of lately. My two babies from a different location purchased months ago are really growing and it has been fun. However I have quite the betta brood going now so maybe I’ll go with another mature betta! SIP Ben tried to help you but nothing seemed to work.

 

How were your water parameters? Was the tank cycled?

 

Yes he was in cycled tanks(used established sponge from a different tank), use the API masterkit, parameters were all in line. He looked weird from the start and never really flourished like my other fish.

So sorry for your loss..what store did you buy him from?

 

He was a Petco baby, I tried a different Petco and got a new baby today...he looks healthy but he's super small. I hope he does well! I am going to ask for additional fry tips in another thread. Thanks for the support!

 

I hope your betta does well...Petco is known for unhealthy animals, and numerous times I have seen dead fish floating around in their tanks. Best of luck!

 

Yeah it's either them or Petsmart that are near, if I drive an hour or more there are some other options...
