Baby Angel fish!

No no no, no video's or pictures taken yet. Fooled you guys

Raven and his girl laid eggs again on the filter before moving the glass fish. So I got angry as they all eat last last hatched 3 days old 15 - 25 babies and I didn't want it to happen this time. I moved the filter itself in a bucket, with no heater in it, since its hard for a bucket to hold a big heater & my small heater is with my cousin. I then added an air stone.

I also noticed in my 200 + gallon tank, that Jr. Elvis, laid eggs with Raven's first girl. So I moved them into the same bucket. Jr. Elvs babies are 1 day younger than Raven's. However Jr. Elvis, girl died after she spawned the eggs and it was a connection between me and her. Felt like she said you tried hard to save all the babies this year. This time try harder. However, Jr. Elvis has a new girl, who is twin sister of his previous girl. They are happily pawning right now on the koi angel fish.

Now the babies are hatched, they are mix breed (some may be jet black veil tail, some maybe jet back normal angel fish) where as Jr. Elvis is like Elvis, however the difference is Elvis had red sexy eyes. Where all the female angelfish were crazy about him. So Jr. Elvis is albino and his girl is tuxedo jet black (jet black with more dark black stripes). So all the babies are in the bucket.

I have made a home made breeder box in Raven's tank. Since I do not want to use tub as it was used to cure my latest discus (my love red) who died in there with the other discus. So I am adding them carefully. So far its looking good and those little baskets want to get out of the breeding box. They just want to meet and greet raven & his girl.

So, we guys did it finally.

Thx for your support my friends. Video's coming soon.

I Want to see! they sound pretty! and jr.elvis sounds cool, I also need info on spawning angelfish cause my 2 unsexed angelfish finally matured and turs out they are a pair. they have spawned twice but the eggs kept getting eaten by the pleco so now I divided the tank.

also sorry but I'm not hijacking this thread.

Hey kiki, its okay you are not hI jacking this thread and if you did its okay with me.
You want! You can Hijack me. Just kidding.

Nice to hear about your angelfish is a pair. However, I also would like to inform you that if there are 2 females angelfish in a tank and are adults or at the the breeding stage. Then both the angelfish will spawn eggs at a time. However, the eggs will turn white/die and will not hatch. As the male is required for fertilizing the eggs. So the females will end up eating the eggs.

About their breeding behavior. they may test the strength at first (by nibbing), etc. Than they will clean the spawning site for sure. Then make a practice move on laying the eggs at spawning site. Than the female starts laying eggs and the male fertilizes them at the same time.

Once the fertilization is done, you have 2 choices either let the parents grow the babies "which is easy", but it takes a lot of try's for parents to raise the fry and master their raising skills. So most of the time in the beginning they end up eating the eggs and the babies too. If they see a tan mate, again the end up eating the babies. So it takes a lot of time for them to learn and grow the babies. But it is easiest and cleanest way. As the parents eats the dead/white eggs, so the live eggs can be healthy.

The second choice is to separate the eggs and raise them away from the parents. Once the eggs have been fertilized (the eggs get fertilized with in 1st hour of spawning). Then you have move the eggs in a different tank. You can also expose the eggs in air for few seconds. So you get few seconds to transfer the eggs. Make sure you have added methane blue in the tank where eggs will be transferred so they don't turn white. Carefully remove the dead/white eggs using a tweezer.

This time, what I did was let the parents took care of the eggs and eat the dead eggs. When the eggs were hatched and there were wigglers. I moved them into a bucket and they were exposed to the air. However some did fall in the tank as well while moving. But rest were survived. Now I have moved them again in the breeding box since they are free swimmers.

You can surely ask any question, no worries.

Its around 6:27 am here and its dark. I just used my torch to have a check on babies. Its so cute they are sticked to each other and cuddling. Maybe they are feeling cold.

Yeah, I know! I am crazy about angel fish. I have most of the collections of the species. I need to take the new baby pictures, but my camera is broken. I tried to make a video using my cell, the babies were blurry pixels.
